About Dr. Triana
How it started in 1985:
When Dr. Triana received the letter indicating that he was accepted into medical school, he ran to his father in jubilation to share the great news. He expected his father also to be euphoric, but instead, he calmly asked him to sit down and listen to him. His father stated, “Son, I am proud of you, and I am happy that your dream is coming to fruition. Nevertheless, I want you to stay grounded and to promise me that when you become a physician, you will always take care of the poor and those who are turned away by other doctors. Promise me that you will not turn your back on them”. Without hesitation, Dr. Triana responded, “Of course dad, I always promise to be involved in the care of the underserved and always to treat them with respect”. Dr. Triana has kept his promise by always being involved in the care of the poor and the Medicaid population. He has worked in Medicaid clinics in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Nassau County.
As an attending physician, he has been involved with the underserved communities at the Fulton Health Center, St. Joseph’s Westside Clinic and the Syracuse Community Health Center. He established Compassionate Family Medicine in 2004 to continue to treat the underserved in a private practice setting.
Dr. Ted J. Triana earned his medical degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) and completed his Internship and Residency at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Long Beach Hospital, and Nassau County Medical Center in Long Island, New York.
